Missing Person Alert — January 11, 2026
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 51‑year‑old Karen Whittaker, who has been reported missing.
Whittaker was last seen late Friday night into early Saturday morning walking on Blue Marlin Street in the Seashore Road area. She was accompanied by a small brown and white dog.
She is described as 5’8”, approximately 200 pounds, with dark red hair. She was last seen wearing a white T‑shirt, beige jacket, and gray leggings.
Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office immediately or call 911.
UPDATE 01/12/26: The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has announced that 51-year-old Karen Whittaker has been located safe.
