By BC News Staff Writer
LAKE WACCAMAW, NC – The community is invited to gather at Lake Waccamaw on Tuesday, April 14, for a powerful evening of awareness. For the 12th consecutive year, the Light the Lake Walk will serve as a literal and symbolic effort to “shine a light” on child abuse prevention.
The event, held annually during Child Abuse Prevention Month, begins at 5:30 p.m. at the BGHNC Pavilion. Participants will embark on a candlelight walk through local neighborhoods before returning to the Pavilion for refreshments.
Organizers emphasize that the walk represents the daily commitment required to uproot child abuse from the community. The event is free and open to everyone, serving as a reminder that positive childhoods are a collective community responsibility.
