WHITEVILLE — Columbus Regional Healthcare System has welcomed a new face to its clinical staff, announcing that registered nurse Cassandra Wilkens has joined the hospital’s Telemetry Floor.

Wilkens is beginning her nursing career at CRHS through the hospital’s Transition to Practice (TTP) program, an onboarding pathway designed to support newly licensed nurses as they move from the classroom into real‑world patient care. The program pairs new nurses with experienced clinical mentors, offering hands‑on training, skill development, and guided support during their first year of practice.

Hospital leadership said they are excited to have Wilkens join the team and look forward to her contributions to patient care.

“We are very excited she chose CRHS to begin her nursing journey and wish her many years of happiness here,” the announcement read.

Telemetry nurses play a critical role in monitoring patients with cardiac and other complex medical needs, and CRHS officials say Wilkens’ addition strengthens the hospital’s commitment to high‑quality, compassionate care.

Wilkens is already settling into her new role as she begins the TTP program and becomes part of the hospital’s growing nursing workforce.
