Community rallies to help cover funeral expenses for longtime Southern Sizzler employee

Michael “Buddy Boy” Thomas spent decades as part of the Southern Sizzler family – showing up early, working hard, and doing what good men do: providing for the people he loved.
His sudden passing has left his family facing the weight of final expenses alone, and the Whiteville community is stepping up to help shoulder that burden.
A fundraiser plate sale will be held Monday, March 9, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Plates are $10.00 and include tender BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll, and a slice of cake.

Every dollar raised goes directly to the family to help cover funeral costs, an act of compassion that eases their pain just a little and reminds them they are not walking through this loss alone.
