SUNSET HARBOR — The Brunswick County Fishing Club is turning up the heat this weekend as it prepares for what many neighbors are already calling the club’s “best chili cook‑off yet.”
The annual event will be held Saturday, February 28, at the club’s headquarters at 3911 Hickory View Drive SE in Sunset Harbor. Festivities run from 3 to 5 p.m., with Bingo kicking off at 7 p.m. for those who want to keep the fun going into the evening.
Organizers say they’re still looking for a few more chili entries — and plenty of hungry judges.
For just $5, attendees can sample all the entries and cast their vote for the top pot. “You will not leave hungry,” the club promises, noting that community buzz around this year’s competition has been especially strong.
The cook‑off is open to the public, and the club encourages both seasoned chili chefs and first‑timers to join in. Tasters are just as important as cooks, organizers say, and they’re hoping for a big turnout.
Anyone with questions or interested in entering a chili can contact the club at 910‑212‑6439.
With good food, friendly competition, and Bingo to round out the night, the Brunswick County Fishing Club is expecting a lively crowd and a memorable community gathering.
