WHITEVILLE — Southeastern Community College is preparing to welcome guests for its annual spring fundraiser, Rams Rock the Yacht, set for March 21 at 7 p.m. at Union Valley Farm & Vineyard. The event serves as the SCC Foundation’s signature spring celebration, combining live music, a reverse raffle, a silent auction and themed festivities to support student scholarships and campus programs.
This year’s fundraiser features a $5,000 grand prize reverse raffle, with only 200 tickets available. Participants do not have to be present to win. Throughout the evening, raffle numbers will be drawn and eliminated until the final ticket remains.
Guests will enjoy live performances from Camel City Yacht Rock, a band known for smooth soft‑rock hits from the 1970s and 1980s. The event also includes a cocktail‑style dinner buffet with heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and soft drinks.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with doors opening, the buffet and the silent auction. The first band set and raffle drawings start at 7 p.m., followed by a costume contest at 8 p.m. The final raffle draw is scheduled for 9:45 p.m., with the event concluding at 10 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged—but not required—to dress in yacht‑rock‑inspired attire, ranging from breezy coastal neutrals to retro sunglasses and soft‑rock‑era fashion. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed.
Ticket options include a $175 package for two guests plus one raffle ticket, a $50 event‑only ticket, and a $75 raffle‑only ticket. Sponsorship levels range from $500 to $5,000, with options such as Captain’s Club, Admiral, First Mate, Crew and themed sponsorships including bar, raffle and band sponsorships. Benefits vary by level and may include reserved seating, event tickets, raffle entries and logo placement.
Proceeds from Rams Rock the Yacht support SCC Foundation initiatives, including scholarships, academic programs and student success efforts.
Tickets and sponsorships are available through the SCC Foundation.
