Joseph Mckinley Freeman 82, of Bolton, NC passed on August 5, 2026. He was born on March 18, 1944 in Columbus County. The son of the late Rossie Mckinley Freeman and Merdith Patrick Freeman
He is survived by a wife, Barbara Kay Herring Freeman; sons, Joseph Michael Freeman and wife Lahomah of Bolton, N.C.; sisters, Millie Freeman of Bolton, N.C.; grandchildren, Jacob Freeman and Kaiden Freeman; a special brother in law, Milton Woodie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher Lynwood Freeman; sister, Susie Woodie; brother, James Nelson Freeman.
His funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday August 9, 2026 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Zack Jacobs, Rev. Mike Jacobs and Rev. Howard Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends one hour prior at the Church.
