HORRY COUNTY, SC — National Night Out, a nationwide community‑building campaign designed to strengthen relationships between residents and law enforcement, is being celebrated across Horry County this evening, August 4, 2026. The annual event encourages neighbors to come together in a relaxed, family‑friendly setting while meeting the agencies that serve their communities.
The Horry County Sheriff’s Office plans to participate in two local gatherings, offering games, giveaways, and face painting for families attending.
In North Myrtle Beach, the Police Department is hosting its National Night Out event from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center on Possum Trot Road. The gathering features activities for children, opportunities to meet officers, and a chance for residents to learn more about community safety programs.
Farther inland, the Carolina Forest Civic Association is holding its event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Carolina Forest Recreation Center. Deputies and community volunteers will be on site to greet families, share information, and participate in the evening’s activities.
National Night Out events are held annually on the first Tuesday in August and are intended to promote neighborhood camaraderie, crime‑prevention awareness, and positive engagement between residents and local law enforcement agencies.
