Bladen County, NC — The Elwell Ferry in Bladen County has been closed since July 27 to allow crews time to replace crosslines between Baltimore Road and Figure 9 Road. County officials say the work is now complete, and the ferry is expected to reopen this evening, July 30, at 5:00 p.m.
The temporary shutdown enabled maintenance teams to safely access the river crossing and perform the line replacement without interruption. Normal ferry operations will resume once service is restored later today.
