North Myrtle Beach, SC — A barricaded‑suspect incident in the 2400 block of Causey Drive ended safely Wednesday afternoon with response involving the North Myrtle Beach Police Department and assisting units from the Horry County Police Department.
Officers were initially dispatched to a family‑related disturbance at a residence on Causey Drive.
Upon arrival, the individual involved refused to exit the home, prompting officers to secure the area and initiate a barricaded‑subject operation. The west side of 27th Avenue South was temporarily closed to traffic, and residents were asked to avoid the neighborhood while officers worked to contain the situation.
Throughout the response, police emphasized that the incident was contained and urged the public not to speculate or share unconfirmed information on social media. Authorities also thanked a local business for allowing its parking lot to be used as a staging area during the operation.
After continued efforts by responding officers, the situation concluded without injury. Jason Davies, of Causey Drive, was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with Assault and Battery First Degree stemming from the original family‑related call.
The North Myrtle Beach Police Department expressed appreciation to the Horry County Police Department for its assistance and thanked residents for their patience and cooperation during the response.
