Tabor City Woman Arrested for Impeding Traffic on Swamp Fox Highway

TABOR CITY, NC — A Tabor City resident was booked into the county jail Thursday evening after law enforcement officers responded to a dangerous traffic disruption along Swamp Fox Highway.

Corporal Patrick Sawhill with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5200 block of Swamp Fox Highway West around 4:09 p.m. following reports of an individual obstructing oncoming vehicle traffic in the area.

Following an investigation on the scene, deputies arrested 38-year-old Karen Sabrina Buffkin at 6:40 p.m. Buffkin was charged with misdemeanor impeding traffic by sitting, standing, or lying in the roadway. She was processed at the detention center under a $2,500 secured bond.

Any individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
