Whiteville Woman Charged in Misdemeanor Larceny Case

WHITEVILLE, NC — A Whiteville resident was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon following an investigation into localized property theft.

Deputies with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Amanda Benton Jones at approximately 4:30 p.m. Jones was formally booked and charged with misdemeanor larceny.

She was processed at the Columbus County Detention Center and placed under a $10,000 secured bond while awaiting her scheduled court appearance.
