WHITEVILLE, NC — The Whiteville Police Department is teaming up with the American Red Cross to host a community blood drive next month aimed at boosting local and national blood supplies.
The drive will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Vineland Station Depot, located at 701 S. Madison Street in Whiteville.
Highlighting that someone in the United States requires blood every two seconds, department officials emphasized that a single donation can make a critical, lifesaving difference for patients in need.
Local law enforcement officers are encouraging residents to mark their calendars, bring a friend, and participate in the community effort. Members of the public are also asked to share information about the event to help spread the word throughout Columbus County.
