Conway, SC — Horry County Fire Rescue responded late Wednesday morning to a gas leak on Belmont Drive in Conway after a gas line was struck at approximately 11:51 a.m.
Crews arrived to find an active leak and initiated precautionary evacuations for several nearby residences. Responders monitored gas levels around the affected area while utility personnel were called in to begin repairs on the damaged line.
HCFR officials said there is no active threat to the surrounding public, and no injuries have been reported. Fire rescue crews will remain on scene alongside utility workers and continue monitoring until the leak has been fully secured and the area is cleared for residents to return.
