RALEIGH, NC — The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is searching for 11 outstanding farm families to feature during the upcoming 2026 N.C. State Fair through its annual Farm Family of the Day program.
Sponsored by Tractor Supply Company, the program is now in its sixth year of celebrating the agricultural families who power the state’s top industry. Applications and nominations are being accepted through Friday, August 21.
“Helping people make the connection between farming and the food that they enjoy is one of our top missions at the N.C. State Fair each year,” said N.C. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. “Thanks to Tractor Supply Company, we can help tell the story of our farmers because they are the individuals out there every day working to grow the food, fiber, and fuel that we need to survive.”
Honors and Recognition
Selected families will receive full recognition across the fairgrounds on their designated day during the fair’s 11-day run. In addition to the public recognition, each honored family will receive a special N.C. State Fair gift basket packed with gate admission tickets, ride passes, and exclusive gear from both the N.C. State Fair and Tractor Supply Company.
How to Apply or Nominate
North Carolina farm families who are passionate about agriculture and the state fair can apply directly, or community members can nominate a deserving farm family.
Both application and nomination forms are available online through the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The submission deadline for all entries is August 21, 2026.
The 2026 N.C. State Fair will take place Oct. 15–25 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
