Fayetteville Man Held On Immigration Detainer After Arrest In Columbus County

WHITEVILLE — A Fayetteville man was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center Thursday afternoon and placed under an immigration detainer.

According to detention records, Miguel Angel Peña Garcia, 36, of 5204 Cypress Road, Fayetteville, was booked at 5:11 p.m. on July 16. His charge description is listed as “INS,” and the charge status is marked “Temporary Hold.”

Peña Garcia is being held without bond under the federal detainer.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
