Committee to review off‑duty management agreement and ordinance updates Thursday evening

LORIS, SC — The City of Loris Public Safety Committee will convene Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers, located at 4101 Walnut Street to discuss several key matters affecting local law enforcement and fire operations.

The meeting, chaired by Lewis C. Hardee Jr., will include updates on the proposed joint training facility for police and fire departments, a review of the city’s off‑duty management service agreement, and reports from both Police Chief Buley and Fire Chief Hardee.

Chief Buley is expected to present information on potential revisions to existing city ordinances, while Chief Hardee will address issues related to false fire alarms and illegal burning within city limits.

An executive session will follow to discuss personnel, contractual, and legal matters.

Residents wishing to speak must sign up at the start of the meeting. While a quorum of City Council may be present, no official decisions will be made during the committee session.
