Traffic Alert: Regency Crossing Entrance to St. James Closing July 16

NCDOT

NCDOT to shift traffic onto new NC 211 lanes, impacting local access for approximately 30 days.

Starting July 16, 2026, drivers accessing the St. James community via the Regency Crossing entrance must follow a new route. This entrance will be closed for just about 30 days as NCDOT shifts traffic onto newly constructed lanes of NC 211.

Mainline Traffic Shift: All NC 211 traffic between NC 133 (Long Beach Road) and Woodedge Way will be diverted onto the newly built westbound lanes.

Westbound Access: Drivers traveling westbound will reach NC 906 (Midway Road/Middleton Boulevard) using a new ramp and traffic signal. They will no longer be able to use the previous signal at that intersection.

Eastbound Access: Access to NC 906 for eastbound drivers remains unchanged and will continue through the existing signal.

During the 30-day closure of the Regency Crossing entrance, residents are encouraged to utilize alternate community entrances and follow all posted construction signage in the area. Motorists should anticipate ongoing traffic pattern changes as work continues on the NC 211 widening project.
