Tabor City, NC – A routine stop at a local shopping center resulted in the capture of a South Carolina fugitive wanted on multiple counts of evading the legal system. Jerome Boyd Hemingway, 47, of Loris, SC, was spotted and identified by Detective Franklin Blanton Jr. outside the Food Lion at the Tabor Crossing Shopping Center.

Hemingway, a 5’5″ Black male weighing roughly 120 pounds, was wanted on active warrants issued by the State of North Carolina. Records show Hemingway missed multiple mandatory court dates, leading to charges of failure to appear on a felony and three separate counts of failure to appear on misdemeanor offenses. He was arrested without further incident and placed in the county jail under a $25,000 secured bond.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
