The charges stem from allegations in the same 2019 incidents that led to more than 30 felony counts against Jeromy Blanton
Columbus County, NC — A Loris, South Carolina woman has been arrested in Columbus County after investigators alleged she allowed sexual abuse involving three minors during incidents reported from 2019.
The case is directly connected to the ongoing investigation into Jeromy Lee Blanton, the Loris man charged with more than 30 felony child sex offenses in Columbus County.
Deputies took Mary Louise Blanton, 52, into custody Monday after serving warrants accusing her of allowing sexual acts to occur between the children and Jeromy Blanton. She is charged with 3 counts of Felony Child Abuse / Sexual Act, a Class D felony under North Carolina law.
Mary Blanton is alleged to have allowed the abuse to take place inside the home. The allegations surfaced as part of a renewed review of the 2019 incidents, which were reopened after additional victims came forward in the related case involving Jeromy Blanton.
Mary Blanton is now in the Columbus County Detention Center held without bond.
