New online system offers crime heat maps, non‑emergency reporting, and secure tip submissions for residents and businesses
WHITEVILLE, NC — The Whiteville Police Department has officially launched its Citizen Connect Portal, a new digital platform designed to make public‑safety reporting faster, smarter, and more transparent. The department says the initiative will help strengthen community partnerships and improve efficiency across its operations.
The portal allows both residents and business owners to view interactive crime heat maps, submit non‑emergency reports online, and share anonymous tips to assist investigations. Commercial businesses can also report theft, vandalism, fraud, and other minor incidents directly through the system.
Chief Paul D. Rockenbach said the rollout reflects the department’s commitment to innovation and community‑oriented policing. Allowing businesses and citizens to submit certain reports online, officers can spend less time on administrative calls and more time actively patrolling neighborhoods and engaging with citizens in the community.
The portal operates 24/7, enabling residents to report incidents anytime, anywhere. The integrated Crime Heat Map feature helps users stay aware of crime trends and activity throughout the city.
