The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southeastern Robeson County, northwestern Columbus County, southeastern Dillon County, and northern Horry County until 4:45 p.m.
At 4:02 p.m., a storm over Fair Bluff was moving northeast at 20 mph with the potential for 60 mph wind gusts and penny‑size hail. Radar indicates the storm may cause tree damage and power line impacts.
Areas in the path include Chadbourn, Fair Bluff, Boardman, Cherry Grove, Evergreen, Barnesville, Cerro Gordo, Marietta, Proctorville, and Orrum.
Residents should move indoors, avoid windows, and be prepared for sudden wind gusts and brief power interruptions.
