Board of Elections Launches Countywide Voter Connection Outreach Events

Connecting Brunswick County Voters With Registration, Education, and Free Photo IDs

Bolivia, NC — The Brunswick County Board of Elections is launching its Annual Voter Connection Opportunities beginning July 16, a countywide outreach effort designed to make voter registration, voter education, and obtaining a free voter photo ID more accessible for residents.

Board of Elections staff will visit senior centers across Brunswick County throughout July and August, offering on‑site voter registration services, absentee ballot request forms, and guidance on voting options available for the 2026 General Election.

Director Sara LaVere said the goal is to reduce barriers for voters who may find registration or photo ID requirements challenging.

“Everything we do is focused on ensuring that voting is accessible to every eligible Brunswick County voter,” LaVere said. “By bringing these services directly into our communities, we hope to make the process simpler, more convenient, and more accessible for everyone.”

To receive a free voter photo ID, individuals must be registered voters residing in Brunswick County. No identification is required to obtain the ID. Voters will complete a short application including their name, date of birth, and the last four digits of their Social Security number.

• Thursday, July 16, 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.  The Brunswick Center at Leland, 121 Town Hall Drive NE, Leland
• Friday, July 17, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  The Brunswick Center at Shallotte, 3620 Express Drive, Shallotte
• Monday, July 20, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  The Brunswick Center at Southport, 1513 N. Howe Street, Suite 1, Southport
• Thursday, July 23, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  The Brunswick Center at Supply, 101 Stone Chimney Road, Supply
• Tuesday, August 4, 11:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  The Brunswick Center at Calabash, 10050 Beach Drive SW, Calabash
• Thursday, August 6, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  The Brunswick Center at Waccamaw, 5841 Waccamaw School Road NW, Ash

Residents may also obtain a free voter photo ID at the Brunswick County Board of Elections office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
