NCTA Caisson Unit Honors Legacy of Deputy Damien Draper Bost in Columbus County

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC — The North Carolina Troopers Association (NCTA) Caisson Unit performed its 127th service on Monday, joining the community in Columbus County to render final honors for Deputy Damien Draper Bost.
The solemn ceremony served as a tribute to Deputy Bost’s life, his dedication to duty, and his ultimate sacrifice. Members of the unit expressed that their role in the service was a profound honor, made possible through the coordinated efforts of the NCTA board of directors, the North Carolina Highway Patrol command staff, dedicated team members, and the generous support of local donors and sponsors.
The NCTA Caisson Unit extended their appreciation to the following businesses and agencies for their instrumental support in ensuring the service was conducted with dignity:
Kinlaw’s Welcome Grill: Hosted the team for breakfast and What-A-Burger (Whiteville): Provided lunch accommodations for the unit members. Stedman Volunteer Fire Department: Supplied necessary logistical support, including ice for the team. Meares & Jones Funeral Service: Provided professional funeral home services and coordination for the event and Columbus County Sheriff’s Office: Recognized for their invitation to the unit to assist and for their dedicated partnership throughout the day.
”Together, we gave Deputy Bost an honorable service fit for the sacrifice he made,” the unit stated in a release.
The NCTA Caisson Unit continues to ask that the family, friends, and colleagues of Deputy Bost remain in the community’s thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
