Honoring America’s 250th: Horry County Reflects on Its Revolutionary Legacy

Little River, SC — As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, the Horry County Museum and Parks and Recreation Department are inviting residents to take a closer look at the region’s role in the American Revolution.

A special program, Revolutionary Exhibit Day, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the CB Berry Community Center  2250 SC 179, Little River.

The presentation will explore how the area that would later become Horry County contributed to the fight for independence, highlighting local stories, geography, and early settlement patterns that shaped the region’s Revolutionary‑era identity.

The event is part of the county’s ongoing observance of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution, a multi‑year national commemoration recognizing the people and places that influenced America’s founding.

Residents are invited to attend and learn more about the history of the place they call home.
