Joseph “Leon” Walker, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville.
Leon was born to the late George Franklin Walker Sr. and Annie Ruth Duncan Walker. He was also preceded in death by eight siblings, Boss Franklin Walker, Herman Walker, David Walker, George Walker Jr., James Earl Walker, Annie Will Walker Bowen, Lillie Lee Walker Boswell, and Barbara Walker Bass.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Worthington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Walker Cemetery; Pastor Jody Griffin will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
Surviving family includes his wife Belinda Long Walker of the home; five children, Leeann Walker, Christopher Walker, Brandon Walker, Amber Walker, and Andrew Walker (Michael Pressley); two step-children, Mindy Nobles Powell and Tara Nobles; two siblings, Roger Walker and Bobbie Lou Walker Cribb; grandchildren, Kellie Lee Nobles, Heather Boswell, A.J. Boswell (Tabitha), Aharon Walker, Cameron King; great-grandchildren, Zoey Nobles and Aurora Nobles; step-grandchildren, Garris Nobles, Trinity Armstrong, Grayson Nobles, Jonathan Rogers, and Kadean Rogers.
