Detour in place as crews install major water transmission line
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Myrtlewood residents and visitors should prepare for a temporary road closure beginning Monday, June 15, as work continues on a major water infrastructure project in the neighborhood.
According to the City of Myrtle Beach, Wild Iris Drive will close at the intersection of 48th Avenue North while crews install a 48‑inch water transmission line. The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
Residents who live along Wild Iris Drive are advised to use 62nd Avenue North and the northern entrances to access their homes during the construction period.
Message boards and detour signs have been placed throughout the area to help drivers navigate the temporary traffic pattern.
