A flavor bomb that you will make for decades to come just like my family has.
3 lbs Sweet Italian Sausage
3 Large Green Bell Peppers
2 Medium Onions
1 tbs Black Pepper
¼ Cup Garlic Powder
2 TBSP Salt
56 Oz Crushed Tomatoes
2 CupsWater
Olive Oil
Directions
Heat a large pan on medium high heat and add enough olive oil to just coat the bottom a little bit and add sausage. Cook sausage for 15 minutes. Make sure to turn them over a few times so they do not burn. Remove from the pan and put aside. They should be slightly under cooked.
In the same pan you cooked the sausage add a ¼ cup of olive oil. Now add the onions and peppers and cook for 10 minutes. Stir frequently.
Add Garlic powder, black pepper and salt. Stir.
Add the water to the pan and stir in well. This will also deglaze the pan and release a lot of flavor. Cook for 10 mins.
Cut sausage into 2 inch pieces or so and add them to the pan. Stir well.
Lower temp to medium low heat and stir in crushed tomatoes mixing well. Cover and cook for 3 hours. Stir regularly.
When it is finished you can put it on your favorite pasta.
