A Chadbourn resident was taken into custody late Wednesday night after deputies served a series of failure‑to‑appear warrants, including one tied to a felony case. The detention report lists Steven Vaughn James, 40, as being booked shortly before 11 p.m. on multiple warrants. Bond amounts included $25,000 secured on a felony failure to appear, another $25,000 secured on a misdemeanor failure to appear, and additional misdemeanor warrants with bonds of $500 and $1,500. Several other charges were listed as “included in other.”
James remained in custody Thursday morning.
