Chadbourn Sets Boil Advisory With Service Interruption Beginning Thursday Night

Water outage begins Thursday night; residents urged to boil water used for consumption until further notice.

Chadbourn, NC — The Town of Chadbourn has issued a Boil Water Advisory in advance of planned water line tie‑ins on Institute Street. According to the town, water service for Chadbourn customers will be shut down beginning Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. and is expected to remain off until Friday, May 29, 2026, at 4:00 a.m.

Once service is restored, all customers are advised to boil water intended for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or preparing food. Officials note that bringing water to a vigorous boil for one minute is sufficient to kill potential disease‑causing organisms. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.

Residents are asked to conserve water during this period. The advisory will remain in effect until the town issues an official cancellation.

The notice was released Tuesday morning by Steven Price with the Town of Chadbourn. For questions, residents may contact the town office at 910.654.4148
