BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC — Motorists in the City of Boiling Spring Lakes will need to plan alternative routes later this week. Municipal officials have announced that Upper Lake Dam Road will be temporarily closed to all through traffic starting Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The scheduled closure is necessary to allow engineering crews to conduct a thorough evaluation of the road’s surface.
To ensure public safety and protect the integrity of the evaluation site, physical barricades will be installed to restrict general access. During the closure, the roadway will be strictly limited to local first responders and city officials conducting official business or responding to emergencies.
The restrictions will remain in place until further notice. City administration expressed appreciation for the community’s patience, understanding, and cooperation as this infrastructure assessment is carried out.
