“Laser Freedom” launches as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary observance
SUNSET BEACH, NC — Ingram Planetarium has added a new patriotic program to its summer lineup with the debut of “Laser Freedom,” a full‑dome laser show created in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary. The show premiered over Memorial Day weekend and will continue in rotation through the season.
Created for America 250 and the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Laser Freedom delivers a patriotic full‑dome tribute for all ages. The show pairs laser visuals with music honoring veterans and active‑duty military, featuring familiar selections such as “The Preamble,” “Proud to Be an American,” and “American Soldier.”
Planetarium staff say the program blends laser art, archival‑style visuals, and a soundtrack meant to highlight themes of independence, service, and national heritage. The show is part of the broader America 250 observance taking place nationwide as communities mark the upcoming semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence.
