Deputies Seek Identity of Man Linked to Repeated Visits at Whiteville Home

Sheriff’s Office asks for public assistance after reports of suspicious activity on Harrelsonville Road

Whiteville, NC — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who has reportedly visited the same Harrelsonville Road residence multiple times over the past several months.

Deputies were contacted on Monday, May 12, 2026, after a resident reported that an unknown male arrived at the property, appeared to take photos or videos, and then left. According to the homeowner, similar incidents have occurred repeatedly since February, each involving the same individual or vehicle.

The man is believed to be driving a white Hyundai Tucson, estimated to be a 2022–2026 model. Investigators say neither the vehicle nor the individual’s clothing displayed business markings, logos, or identification, and no paperwork or business card was left at the residence.

Officials also noted that similar activity has recently been reported in a neighboring county.

The Sheriff’s Office is working to identify the individual and speak with him regarding the incidents. Anyone who recognizes the man, the vehicle, or has information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office at 910.642.6551.
