Horry County officials say 41‑year‑old Dannie Pigotte died after an altercation in Magoo’s parking lot

Myrtle Beach, SC — A Brunswick County, NC man died after a weekend shooting outside a Myrtle Beach bar, according to officials in Horry County.
Authorities identified the victim as 41-year-old Dannie Pigotte Jr. of Shallotte. Deputies were called to Magoo’s Sports & Spirits early Saturday morning after reports of gunfire in the parking lot. Investigators say an altercation occurred outside the business shortly before shots were fired.
41-year-old Pigotte was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Officials confirmed that a second person was shot during the incident, though no additional details about that individual have been released.
As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made. Horry County Police continue to investigate what led to the confrontation and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
