TABOR CITY — Deputies are investigating a larceny on Sidney Cherry Grove Road after a Stihl HT250 pole saw valued at $980 was reported stolen Monday evening.

The victim, Craig Tyler, 54, told deputies that a 27‑year‑old white male, 5’08”, 200 lbs, brown hair and blue eyes, trespassed onto his property before the theft.

The suspect description closely resembles several recent trespassing complaints in the Tabor City area, though deputies have not confirmed a link.

The offenses listed include Larceny, Possession of Stolen Goods, and Second‑Degree Trespass.

Stihl HT‑series pole saws are commonly targeted in rural thefts due to their high resale value and use in landscaping and tree‑service work.
