Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office investigates misdemeanor incident on Palm Frond Way

CALABASH, NC — Authorities are investigating a report of attempted theft at a residence in the Calabash area.

On April 20, Deputy Robert Helms of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Palm Frond Way. The victim, identified as 39-year-old Matthew Robert Burdick, reported that an individual attempted to steal property from the home.

The case has been officially classified as Attempted Larceny, a misdemeanor under North Carolina law. According to the responding officer’s report, there were no signs of forced entry at the scene.

As of this report, no suspect information has been released and no arrests have been made. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
