Local health officials invite Whiteville residents to Jefferson Street for nutritional resources and community outreach.

Whiteville, NC — The Columbus County Health Department is hosting a free food drive this Thursday, May 7, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Located at 304 Jefferson Street in Whiteville, the event is designed to provide immediate nutritional support to local families while fostering stronger ties between residents and public health officials.

No pre-registration is required, allowing community members to stop by the facility to pick up supplies on a first-come, first-served basis.

Beyond the distribution of food, the initiative serves as an outreach opportunity for the ColCo Health Department to share various resources aimed at supporting a healthy community. Attendees will have the chance to meet with staff and connect with other neighbors in an informal setting. By removing barriers to access, the department aims to provide both essential items and information on long-term wellness programs available to those living in the Whiteville area.
