PriorityPet Provides After-Hours Medical Support for Brunswick County Families
By BC News Staff Writer
Leland, NC — Pet owners across Brunswick County will soon have a new option for emergency veterinary services as PriorityPet Urgent Care prepares to open its doors at the Leland Town Center. Located at 3556 Leland Town Center Drive, Suite 130, the facility is designed to bridge the critical gap between standard office hours and emergency hospital care. PriorityPet has announced it will officially begin operations on Monday, April 27, offering a specialized suite of services including urgent care, surgical procedures, and in-house diagnostics.
The medical team is led by experienced veterinarians Dr. Kara Duffy and Dr. Brenda Fox, both of whom have deep ties to the regional veterinary community. Dr. Duffy, a graduate of Ross University and NC State, has practiced small animal medicine and emergency care in the area since 2011. Joining her is Dr. Brenda Fox, a 2015 graduate of the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine and a long-time resident of Southeastern North Carolina. Dr. Fox is also a frequent volunteer with World Vets, providing international veterinary aid throughout Central and South America.
The clinic is positioning itself as a primary resource for local families facing sudden pet illnesses or unexpected injuries during hours when traditional veterinary offices are typically closed.
With a daily schedule running from noon until 10:00 p.m., the facility provides immediate walk-in support through the evening, on weekends, and during holidays. This extended availability aims to offer peace of mind to the community, ensuring that medical intervention is accessible without the long wait times often associated with larger regional trauma centers.
Ahead of the official opening, PriorityPet will host an open house on Saturday, April 25, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. This event will allow the public to tour the new diagnostic and surgical suites, meet the veterinary team, and learn more about the specific urgent care protocols available for local pets. The arrival of the clinic marks a significant addition to the growing healthcare infrastructure in the Leland area, specifically targeting the needs of pet owners who require professional veterinary support outside of the standard nine-to-five window.
