Cardella Blanks Mitchell of Lake Waccamaw, passed on April 9, 2026, in Whiteville, NC. She was born on August 23, 1944. The daughter of the late Andrew Howard Blanks and Luticia Mitchell Blanks. She is predeceased by husband Daniel Mitchell, brother, Woodrow Blanks and sister Roberta Mitchell.
She is survived by sons, Daniel E. Mitchell (Celena) and Carson Young (Jessica); daughters, Lisa Burgess and Miranda Young all of Lake Waccamaw; brothers Allen Blanks, Joseph Blanks, Earl Blanks and Buddy Blanks; sisters, Shirley Blanks, Randa Jacobs and Carolyn Strickland; grandchildren, Amber, Daniel, Brandi, Mitchell, Brittany, Candace, Jose, Armando, Emily, Caitlyn and Hunter; 19 great grand-children.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur Smith officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her service at St. James Missionary Baptist Church.
