Holden Beach, NC — Members of the Town of Holden Beach staff traveled to Washington, D.C. last week to participate in the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) Coastal Summit and to meet with federal lawmakers about issues affecting the town.
During the visit, staff discussed several ongoing priorities, including the need for recurring funding to support dredging of the Lockwood Folly Inlet and the continuation of FEMA and other federal disaster‑relief programs that coastal communities rely on after major storms.
Town officials expressed appreciation to Congressman David Rouzer, Senator Thom Tillis, and representatives from Senator Ted Budd’s office for taking time to meet and engage in what the town described as productive conversations about Holden Beach’s long‑term coastal and infrastructure needs.
