LAKE WACCAMAW — Civic organizations from across North Carolina will come together on March 28 for Spring Civic Club Day, a day of service, fellowship, and community engagement hosted by the Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and brings together members of the Jaycees, Kiwanis, Lions, and Rotary clubs, along with supporters of the Boys & Girls Homes mission. The day is designed to strengthen partnerships between civic groups while giving volunteers a hands‑on opportunity to support youth on campus.
Participants will begin the day with registration at the Chapel from 9:30 to 10 a.m., followed by a welcome program at 10 a.m. A guided tour of a cottage begins at 10:30 a.m., giving visitors a closer look at the living spaces supported by community donations and volunteer efforts.
From 11 to 11:45 a.m., clubs and youth will team up for friendly competition games in the quad. Lunch will be served from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Thomas Academy gym.
The afternoon will conclude with service projects at the cottages from 1 to 2 p.m., where volunteers will help clean and beautify outdoor areas.
Organizers are also encouraging attendees to bring donations for the BGHNC Country Store and general cottage needs. A QR code on event materials links to the full list of requested items and registration information.
For questions, participants may contact Erica Hughes, Director of Community Engagement, or Pamela Young‑Jacobs, Chief Mission Officer, at 910‑646‑3083.
