UPDATE: FIRE CONTAINED
As of 12:00 a.m., this woods fire, all 45 acres has been fully contained. No structures sustained any damage.
Nichols, SC — At 7:38 p.m., Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the 7000 block of Cookes Circle for a reported woods fire.
This remains an active incident, with crews working to fully contain the fire, which is estimated at 20 acres. No structures are currently threatened.
The South Carolina Forestry Commission and Horry County Police Department are assisting.
People in the area may see smoke for an extended duration as operations continue.
