Melvin “Shag” McCowan, 72 of Supply, North Carolina, passed away on March 9, 2026.
Mr. McCowan was born March 25, 1953, son of the late Lloyd and Nell McCowan.
Shag was a disc jockey, performing most recently at the Lazy Turtle on Oak Island and previously at many local venues.
He is survived by his son, Joseph McCowan; and a sister, Linda McCowan Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas McCowan.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
