Slade Gorton issues multi‑state recall; product sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club
A multi‑state recall has been issued for Wellsley Farms Farm‑Raised Atlantic Salmon after routine federal testing detected a possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The frozen 2‑pound bags, marked Lot 3896 and UPC 888670025963, were sold January 31 through February 7, 2026 at BJ’s Wholesale Club locations across seven East Coast states, including North Carolina.
According to the FDA‑posted announcement, the recall was initiated by Slade Gorton & Co., Inc. following the detection of the bacteria, which can cause serious illness in vulnerable individuals.
No illnesses have been reported, but consumers are urged not to eat the product and to check their freezers for the affected lot.
The recalled salmon was distributed to BJ’s stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Customers who purchased the product may return it to BJ’s for a refund. Consumer hotline at 1.888.628.0730
