We stopped in at the Southport Eggs Up Grill franchise on a weekday around 11:00 a.m., just before the lunch rush.

The dining room was moderately busy, but we were seated right away with a friendly greeting and given our choice of a booth or table.

Floors, tables, and utensils were clean and tidy, the front entrance was clear, and seating was available for busier wait times. Even the windows were spotless -always a reassuring sign.

Our table service was handled by two newer servers who were still learning, but they remained kind and attentive. A couple of items were missing from our order, though everything was corrected quickly once mentioned.

The only real service gap was the lack of drink refills and no mid‑meal check‑in to see if we needed anything. Not a major issue, but something they could easily improve.

Meals –
My Plate – Bacon and sausage links cooked to perfection. – Eggs came sunny‑side up ~ my mistake, since I meant to order over easy. I ate them without fuss because the kitchen prepared exactly what I asked for. – Biscuits with country gravy were warm, seasoned well, and absolutely spot‑on. – Sweet tea was strong enough to shine the paint off a car which, in the South, is exactly the compliment it sounds like.

Husband’s Plate – Orange juice served very cold, just the way he likes it. – Omelet with cheese, bacon, and spinach. The flavor was very good and not over the top, though the fillings could’ve been distributed more evenly – one end had no ingredients inside. – The Bacon was spot on. – English muffin was nicely buttered but wasn’t toasted as requested.

Bathroom – The single‑stall restroom was clean, stocked, and tidy. The only concern was the door handle, which was extremely loose.  The kind of thing a quick maintenance fix would solve. If I’d had a screwdriver with me, I could’ve handled it myself. Worst case, I had my phone and could’ve called my husband from the dining room if I got stuck inside. A little humor, but worth noting.

Overall Eggs Up Grill delivered a pleasant, satisfying visit with great food and a friendly team that’s still learning but trying.

A few service oversights and a loose bathroom handle kept it from being a perfect score, but the experience was still well above average.

Final Verdict: 8.5/10 Good food, clean environment, and a comfortable stop for breakfast or brunch. We shall return.
