Frito-Lay issues voluntary allergy alert for select 8 oz. bags; potential risk for consumers in the Southwest and via mail order.
Frito-Lay has issued a voluntary recall for select 8 oz. bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips due to an undeclared milk allergen. The company discovered that some bags may contain jalapeño-flavored chips, which are seasoned with milk-based ingredients not listed on the Spicy Dill Pickle packaging. This poses a serious or life-threatening risk to individuals with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity. While the product is safe for those without dairy concerns, all affected bags should be identified immediately.

The recall specifically targets 8 oz. bags with a “Guaranteed Fresh” date of 21 APR 2026 and either manufacturing code 38U301414 or 48U101514 (located on the front right side of the bag). The UPC listed on the back is 0 28400 76177 2. No other Miss Vickie’s sizes, flavors, or variety packs are included in this alert.
While primary distribution was limited to retailers and digital storefronts in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, consumers nationwide should remain vigilant.
Due to the nature of third-party mail orders and online marketplaces, these specific bags may have reached households outside the initial six-state region.
If you possess the recalled product and have a milk allergy, do not consume it. Discard the chips immediately and contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 877.984.2543 from 9:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday or visit the Miss Vickie’s Contact Us page for reimbursement. No allergic reactions have been reported to date.
