Dosher Sets April 1 Date for Operation Medicine Cabinet

Drive‑through drug take‑back returns with a strict four‑hour collection window

Southport, NC — Dosher Memorial Hospital has set Wednesday, April 1 as the date for its next Operation Medicine Cabinet medication‑disposal event.

The drive‑through format allows residents to drop off unwanted or expired prescription drugs at the hospital’s front entrance without leaving their vehicles, offering a safe and convenient way to clear out medicine cabinets.

The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the front entrance of Dosher Memorial Hospital, 924 N. Howe Street in Southport. Staff will be on site throughout the four‑hour window to assist with safe collection and handling of medications.

For safety reasons, Dosher emphasizes that no medications can be accepted before 9:00 a.m. or after 1:00 p.m. on the day of the event. This policy protects patients, visitors, and staff and ensures proper supervision during the disposal process.

Residents with questions may contact the Dosher Office of Marketing and Community Relations at 910.457.3900 or email marketing@dosher.org for additional information.
