BCSO Deputy Commendation: Service in the Small Moments

BCSO First Sergeant David Boynton (Brunswick County Sheriff's Office)

Community member praises First Sergeant David Boynton for stepping in to help a stranded motorist

February 24, 2026

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office recently received the following message from a grateful member of our community:

“My car was parked with a flat tire. I was waiting for my husband when the Sheriff stopped and asked if I was OK. I explained the situation and he volunteered to change the wheel. He was so kind and helpful, and I really appreciated his help (so did my husband as it saved him a trip!). Thank you to the BCSO.”

That Sheriff was actually First Sergeant David Boynton, and this is exactly what service looks like.

Whether responding to emergencies or simply checking on a stranded motorist, Brunswick County deputies are committed to looking out for the people they serve. Sometimes the badge means changing a tire. Sometimes it means offering reassurance…

And every time, it means showing up

The Sheriff’s Office is proud of First Sergeant Boynton for going above and beyond and for representing the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office with professionalism, kindness, and a servant’s heart.

Thank you for making a difference in the small moments that matter most.
