Leland uses NCLM safety grant to enhance security at its expanding Town Hall.

The Town of Leland has been awarded a $5,000 Safety Grant from the NC League of Municipalities (NCLM) through its Property & Liability insurance pool, funding designed to help municipalities strengthen workplace safety and protect public assets.

Leland used the grant to purchase and install new video surveillance equipment as part of its Town Hall expansion project. The upgraded system enhances the safety of staff and visitors, helps prevent unauthorized access, and supports the protection of public property across the expanded facility.

The North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM) is a member‑driven association representing more than 540 cities, towns, and villages across the state. Founded in 1908, the League provides advocacy, insurance, training, and technical support to help municipalities operate safely and efficiently. Its safety grant program is part of NCLM’s broader mission to strengthen local government and protect public assets.
