Cold Weather Advisory Issued for Southeastern N.C. Through Sunday Morning
A cold weather advisory is in effect late Saturday through Sunday morning for much of southeastern North Carolina, with wind chills expected to drop into the low teens, according to the National Weather Service.
The advisory covers Bladen, Columbus, Robeson, Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties, including both coastal and inland areas. It begins at 11 p.m. Saturday and expires at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Forecasters warn that wind chills could fall to around 10 to 11 degrees, creating conditions that may lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
Residents are urged to limit time outdoors, dress in layers and wear hats and gloves. Officials also advise using caution while traveling overnight and early Sunday as temperatures fall.
